Health and Safety Policy

  • Purpose

The Swamp Donkey Musical Theatre Society (“SDMTS”) and its board of directors are committed to the health and safety of our members, volunteers, students, participants, production team, cast, crew, patrons, and other partners (“Partners”).  As such, and in order to protect our Partners and our property, SDMTS has developed the following policy.

  • Policy

SDMTS will make every effort to provide and maintain a healthy and safe work environment, continuously striving to eliminate any identified hazard that might result in personal injury and/or property damage.

To achieve this, the board of directors will establish and maintain health and safety procedures and provide proper equipment and training in compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation.

All of our Partners are required to share our dedication to health and safety and to abide by SDMTS’s health and safety policy and procedures.  Supervisors, who will be held accountable for the health and safety of workers under their supervision, are responsible for ensuring that equipment is safe and workers receive adequate training in their specific tasks and follow the health and safety procedures established by SDMTS.  Each worker, in turn, must take steps to protect the health and safety of themselves and others by working in compliance with the law and with SDMTS’s health and safety policy and procedures.  All Partners are required to address unsafe situations in a timely, effective manner in accordance with this policy and our health and safety procedures.

At SDMTS, the health and safety of our Partners is of the utmost concern.  There is no task so urgent that it cannot be completed safely.  We trust that each of our Partners will join us in a personal commitment to health and safety.
