General Audition Information:

Auditions for ALL our 2026/2027 season productions are scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026 and Thursday, June 11, 2026. Auditions are for A Taste Of Things To Come, A Bragg Creek Christmas, and Dear Evan Hansen.

All auditions will take place at the Swamp Donkey Theatre located at 16 White Avenue in Bragg Creek.

Note: Performers who have performed in two or more of our mainstage productions in the past are not required to audition. These performers must still complete an Audition Form, indicating which productions/roles they are interested in. The completed Audition Form must be submitted to us by email at swampdonkeytheatre@gmail.com no later than 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Age Requirements:

Auditions are open to anyone ten years of age or older. Auditionees must be ten years old at the time of their audition. There are no roles for youth in A Taste Of Things To Come. Young performers may wish to consider participating in our fall and spring youth musical theatre courses in lieu of our mainstage productions.

Time Commitment:

​Please review the time commitment, outlined below and on the audition form, in determining whether to audition for productions.

Cast members are expected to be available for ALL regular rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances, unless absences are approved in advance and in writing by our Artistic Director. Please list absences on the audition form.

Audition Requirements:

Auditionees are asked to prepare the following for their audition:

  • Song 1 – musical theatre ballad, one minute long, with accompanying background track;
  • Song 2 – musical theatre uptempo, one minute long, with accompanying background track; and
  • Monologue – one minute long, appropriate to your age with appropriate content.

Please note that auditionees who have not prepared all three of the pieces required for the audition will not be considered for the production(s).

Please note there is no space to warm up or rehearse in the theatre. Auditionees are asked to warm up prior to their arrival at the theatre. Auditionees are asked to wait outside the theatre until they are called into the theatre for their audition.

Please note there is no WiFi at the theatre.  Please email background tracks to us at artisticswampdonkeytheatre@gmail.com prior to auditions or have the track downloaded onto your device.

We kindly request that family and friends wait outside the theatre during auditions.
